Windows 7 Speech Recognition Tool

Question

Guest =TS=MAGNET

Some of us don't post in the forum because we either don't know how to type fast, don't want to type or just don't feel like typing and would rather go into teamspeak to say what we have to say -- All that is totally cool!

Well, I have good news for you -- you can keep talking but this time, convert what you say into a text box.

Windows Speech Recognition, found in Windows 7, converts your spoken words into text that can appear on your screen.

Open the Speech Recognition tool by:

1.  Click the Start button
2.  Click All Programs
3.  Click on Accessories
4.  Click Ease of Access
5.  Click Windows Speech Recognition
6.  Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode.
7.  Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into.
8.  Say the text that you want dictate.

If you want to correct something, here's what you do:

There are several ways to correct mistakes made during dictation. You can say "correct that" to correct the last thing you said. To correct a single word, say "correct" followed by the word that you want to
correct. If the word appears more than once, all instances will be highlighted and you can choose the one that you want to correct. You can also add words that are frequently misheard or not recognized by using
the Speech Dictionary.

1.  Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition.
2.  Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode.
  • a.  To correct the last thing you said, say "correct that."; or,
  • b.  To correct a single word, say "correct" followed by the word that you want to correct.
3.  In the Alternates panel dialog box, say the number next to the item you want, and then "OK."

NOW YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR NOT POSTING IN THE FORUMS ON A DAILY BASIS --

:wink20:

would be nice to keep the hands off the keys but

for my feeling the speech recognition is not good enough.

i missing the feature to change the language.

i don´t want to talk like a robot just for good results on the screen!

hopefully they will get it to the state of Star Trek. that is what i call

a good recognition.

(yes, i love Star Trek because of multiple things being better than today) :terminator11:

You don't have to talk like a robot ... talk like you normally would talk.  You can always tell it to go back to a word, sentence or paragraph.  I've been messing with it and it's fairly easy somewhat.  You can set it like you want.

Seriously and I do it all the time time now.  If you follow the steps I've provided you will be able to do the same thing too.  You just have to tell it what you want it to do and say.

It is totally cool, Zoa!   You would really like it so let me know what you think after you've given it a try.

nice feature of microsoft, i tested this over many days and stop it because this tool slow down my pc in all functions.

e.g. i use many shortcut keys (like WIN & E / WIN & R / etc) and by activate the Speech, the keys slowing down and the programs behind the keys open after seconds not as normal with direct popup.

have anyone similar diagnosed that ?

greets

Deep
