Some of us don't post in the forum because we either don't know how to type fast, don't want to type or just don't feel like typing and would rather go into teamspeak to say what we have to say -- All that is totally cool! Well, I have good news for you -- you can keep talking but this time, convert what you say into a text box. Windows Speech Recognition, found in Windows 7, converts your spoken words into text that can appear on your screen. Open the Speech Recognition tool by: 1. Click the Start button 2. Click All Programs 3. Click on Accessories 4. Click Ease of Access 5. Click Windows Speech Recognition 6. Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode. 7. Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into. 8. Say the text that you want dictate. If you want to correct something, here's what you do: There are several ways to correct mistakes made during dictation. You can say "correct that" to correct the last thing you said. To correct a single word, say "correct" followed by the word that you want to correct. If the word appears more than once, all instances will be highlighted and you can choose the one that you want to correct. You can also add words that are frequently misheard or not recognized by using the Speech Dictionary. 1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition. 2. Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode. a. To correct the last thing you said, say "correct that."; or, b. To correct a single word, say "correct" followed by the word that you want to correct. 3. In the Alternates panel dialog box, say the number next to the item you want, and then "OK."
