  1. bicycle across america

Is this one of those "bucket list" things? I set a goal to lose 20+ pounds before October, and I thought that was something. You're making me feel like an underachiever. :D
  2. Eclipse 2017: NASA Supports a Unique Opportunity for Science in the Shadow - https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2017/eclipse-2017-nasa-supports-a-unique-opportunity-for-science-in-the-shadow Click on the map to view or download a 10MB, 5400x2700 Jpeg image of the projected path; starting just south of Portland, Oregon at about 10:18 am PDT, and ending at Charleston, South Caroline at about 2:48 pm EDT on the continental United States. I'm near Cincinnati, Ohio - which should allow me to see a 90% eclipse from my front porch.
  3. Someone has probably posted this already, as this was published September 2016. My grandson turned me on to them, and he can play this on his 6-string guitar (self-taught).
  4. Wow, guys. Thanks for the info. I looked real hard at this Beta, read some reviews on Steam; then I saw it was 50GB! No thanks, but it's nice to know some =TS= peeps are trying it out.
  5. Yeoman, did you sort this out yet? My grandson uses BlueStacks to run Android Apps on his Windows 8.1 PC. BlueStacks has been around for quite a while, and is probably the most popular; as per pcadvisor.co.uk - http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/google-android/how-run-android-on-pc-computer-apps-3504642/ The BlueStacks executive, currently called "BlueStacks2_native", is 320MB, installed by default in "C:\Program Files (x86)\" & "C:\ProgramData\", and added about 1.5GB to his drive. Once running, you'll have a BlueStacks window on your desktop (see photos on the page above), in which Apps display. I've seen it used with Instagram successfully. But the annoying ads displayed in the lower bar... Ugh! Here's a "comparison" chart of BlueStacks vs other gaming platforms; http://www.bluestacks.com/comparison-chart.html According to that page, the System Specs (requirements) say to allow for 4GB of space. I have no personal experience with Android or mobile emulators, so...
  6. This topic caught my attention, but only after I saw Hitman's video first. I followed the link in the YouTube comments section. My take on this, knowing the way Hitman plays around in servers ( himself, and one or two others in a map for hours, goofing off ), I suspect he got these Stats after testing the weapons on a friend, or shooting someone up close, much like the "hide and seek BF4" video recently posted. Or something similar. He's a sniper, and many players teach themselves to "aim for the head"! Here are his most "suspicious" Stats out of 87 Weapons, which have Headshot data collected; SKS: Ranked # 31 - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/WoodyWoodPecka/iteminfo/sks/352831904/pc/ Hs/K = 111% (105 Kills) L85A2: Ranked # 35 - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/WoodyWoodPecka/iteminfo/l85a2/352831904/pc/ Hs/K = 127% (100 Kills) G17C: Ranked # 64 - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/WoodyWoodPecka/iteminfo/g17c/352831904/pc/ Hs/K = 100% (less than 20 Kills) 9mm Suppressed: Ranked # 66 - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/WoodyWoodPecka/iteminfo/m9-supp/352831904/pc/ Hs/K = 125% (less than 20 Kills) BUT, his #1 ranked weapon Stats; PKP PECHENEG: Ranked #1 - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/WoodyWoodPecka/iteminfo/pkp-pecheneg/352831904/pc/ Hs/K = 17% (2076 Kills) A few of Hitman's "BF3 stats" look odd, but must be some kind of explainable anomaly. I seriously don't know how some of these stats are calculated, given that not a single "Accuracy" Stat looks correct to me (from the ones I checked). And, I'd say that using BF3 stats alone to decide on a BF4 ban, is a little draconian. Even for me, and I'm an idiot about that kind of stuff. I agree with rydon's solution of playing some BF3 with those weapons, and just play crappy on purpose. I'd do it for hours, in a TDM server or a full server of your choice. Who cares about BF3 stats now anyway! Just have a few beers and join a full server for as long as you can stand it, keeping in mind why you're doing it. It can't hurt, and might allow you some trouble-free BF4 play from now on. Good hunting!
  7. Nice going, Hitman! This looks like a sweet, custom build, complete with case modification. Looking locally for the same parts, I see you went higher in cost than I've considered going for a gaming build. Upper level motherboards seem overkill to me, with the exception of SATA connections available. Hell, I'd settle for a mATX if it had enough fan headers & SATA connections to suit me. I was never bitten by the "water cooled" bug, since I saw it happen to family members who custom build. But they are pretty to look at. And your's has some nice looking twists & turns in there. Will the coolant glow? I can't tell from the video, is there enough clearance for RAM under the coolant tube? What about graphics card length? Surely, you've checked for these things... Again, Nice going, keep us posted. (I thumbed up your video)
  8. Doing a "Hard Shutdown" during updates, when it expressly says not to do that... I can only guess what corruption issues that might lead to.
  9. Two questions- 1. Did a "Deleted Programs file" appear on the desktop after the Reset of Windows 10, which listed any deleted programs/games? 2. Do you know what caused the Config file corruption to begin with? This might help me in the future, if it ever comes up with one of my clients, as I also do this sort of thing. Thanks for the tutorial, and a big thanks for finding & testing the Win10 ISO torrent, since it's almost impossible to get the ISO directly from Microsuck without a valid "retail" key. You can't get a Windows 7 ISOs from Digital River any longer. Now, all Windows ISOs are to be downloaded directly from the Microsoft's Website, and you MUST type in a valid retail key beforehand, to get them (as I understand it).
  10. On my own Windows 7 desktop PC, I occasionally play Medal of Honor Multi-player (2010), or Call of Duty MW2 SP in Veteran Mode, and to collect all the "Intel". But other PCs in the house have CoD Black Ops 3 installed, so I have played about 40 hrs of Multi-player (9 vs 9 with Bots) against my grandson. Family-fun-times... We have 10Mb/.5Mb satellite internet with a daytime Data Cap of only 10GBs per month. Once that is used up, speeds drop drastically to between 100-20 Kbps. But the real killer is ping, which never falls below 630 ms.
  11. Thanks for the info, MAGNET. I would like to add, if you have a desktop PC with integrated graphics and would like to add a video card, but either aren't sure or don't have the Power Supply (PSU) for a high-end card, then check out the Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 02G-P4-2951-KR 2GB Graphics Card ---> Found at (USA) Newegg.com, currently on sale for $140, less $20 Mail In Rebate.. Making it $120 Free Shipping, after rebate. Power Specs are; Max Power Draw: 110W - Recommended PSU: 350W, AND it comes with a "4-Pin(2) to 6-Pin Adapter", in case your PSU has no PCIe connectors. Since almost every PSU has 2 unused 4-pin Molex connectors, this is a "best bang for the buck", low-mid level Graphics Card, that easily out performs 2x GTX 560Ti in SLI configuration. And I have it on good authority that a single GTX 950, along with an i-7 & 8GB of DDR3 RAM will run CoD Black Ops 3 very well, WHILE recording gameplay using Nvidia Shadow Play (included in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience bundled along with NVIDIA Drivers.
  12. In case you're not aware of it, the first "Windows" rule is: NEVER upgrade Windows! And if you weren't looking, you might be dealing with THIS... Those who have posted in this thread are acutely aware of Windows 10 (upgrade), but it's been a headache for many of my clients this past year. I will be staying clear of it for my personal use, for sure. Do you have a Windows 10 Notebook? Reverting it to Windows 8.1 or 7 "might" be possible. For free, even (less any labor fees, of course). For MAGNET - I live fairly close to you, and all I do is computer repair; Software, Virus/Malware removal, Hardware, Windows repair & installation.. Perhaps I can help you with your Notebook...?? I'll PM my contact info, so look in your Messenger Inbox. That Spybot program was a good find, by the way. I have one client who has "upgraded" to Windows 10, and yeah.. It's a nightmare/money maker for me. I just can't convince him to let me cleanly install Windows 8 back on his 2010 custom machine; he says he likes Windows 10. But if it wasn't for the fact that he has fast, non-stop, Cable Internet, he'd be singing a different tune. From what I gather, Windows 10 is in CONSTANT 2 way communication with Redmond... Tracking & recording everything you do, little brother in full swing.
  13. God help you, Alberta, in your political "experiment". I salute your efforts. And yet Alberta uses the Canadian dollar, which is printed by the Bank of Canada, or BoC (much like the Fed in the USA)... So it won't matter who's in office, as long as Alberta is enslaved by a central bank.. “The bank hath benefit of interest on all moneys which it creates out of nothing.” William Paterson, founder of the Bank of England in 1694, then a privately owned bank. “Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who writes the laws.” Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812), founder of the House of Rothschild. “The few who understand the (banking) system will either be so interested in its profits or be so dependent upon its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of people, mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests.” The Rothschild brothers of London writing to associates in New York, 1863.
  14. Hopefully, my comment in no way takes away from how open and good this looks, but I despise 3rd person view. Narrator sounds like Thomas Jane... At this writing, that video has less than 70,000 views. Pre-Alpha Gameplay... I never heard that one before. To me, that sounds like "we made just enough of the game to make this trailer for you to drool over".
  15. My BSODs started sometime in May.. I haven't kept track of them, or their causes. I do know that many were "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". But not all - and they included driver files, directx files, antivirus files, sometimes no file was listed, sometimes just a STOP error.. On May 15th, I installed the GT Lite Client (GameTracker). http://www.gametracker.com/downloads/ After that, I noticed weird things with my Windows 7 and the BSODs started. I updated the NVIDIA driver on June 10th. Since the creation of my new user account on June 15th, I've had one BSOD; which happened a few days after (while I was using Media Player Classic). So for the last 3 1/2 weeks, only one BSOD. My original user account was created on December 2013. I really need to reinstall Windows 7, but I procrastinate.
